Why everyone keeps coming back.

El Cielo Atzavara - Los Extremeños, nestled within the stylish Espacio Atzavara Hotel in Santa Susanna, Barcelona, offers a compelling culinary journey into Spanish flavors with a contemporary twist. This restaurant specializes in celebrating local produce, notably showcasing exquisite Iberian ham that has earned praise for its silky texture and melt-in-the-mouth richness. Each dish here feels carefully crafted, blending tradition with innovation to create a memorable dining experience.

Guests often highlight the precision with which the meats are cooked, alongside a thoughtful wine selection that complements every bite. The atmosphere at El Cielo Atzavara strikes a balance between cozy and elegant, setting the perfect stage for a relaxed yet refined meal. Service is generally warm and knowledgeable, with staff attentive to dietary needs, providing a reassuring welcome especially for those with specific allergies or preferences.

However, it’s worth noting that experiences can vary. While many savor the remarkable flavors—like the celebrated Iberian ham and beautifully prepared meats—some diners have found certain dishes, such as the potatoes with parmigiano and truffle sauce, not to their personal taste due to texture preferences, and others have observed that seasoning on some seafood could be improved. Additionally, the service, although friendly and professional at times, has occasionally been described as less approachable, suggesting a level of customer interaction that might benefit from greater consistency.

Despite these nuances, El Cielo Atzavara exudes an authentic local charm and delivers a culinary adventure that genuinely honors the finest elements of Spanish cuisine. For food lovers eager to explore rich, traditional flavors with a modern flair—served in an inviting and aesthetically pleasing space—this restaurant provides a destination worth visiting in the heart of Santa Susanna.

I was expecting more, salad was decent but nothing special. Potatoes with parmigiano cheese and truffles was with truffle sauce- i can't stand soaking potatoes in anything. Salmon wasn't seasoned well, fish was fine. Actually food was for 3⭐ but it's my last day here so I'm feeling little bit generous. Service was good and the atmosphere is nice.

Quite simply, a revelation. El Cielo Atzavara has become my new favourite bistro/restaurant in this lart of Spain, and for good reason. The Iberian ham is nothing short of world-class, silky, rich, and melt-in-the-mouth perfection. Every dish celebrates the best of Spanish produce, with incredible meats cooked to absolute precision. You can taste the care and craftsmanship in every bite. The service although a little slow, is warm and professional without ever feeling fussy, and the wine list is well curated to match the depth and flavour of the food beautifully. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is the kind of place that makes you fall in love with Spanish dining all over again.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 Experience at El Cielo I had an incredible dining experience at El Cielo. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, especially when it came to allergens. My sister cannot eat gluten and for her, as someone who eats gluten-free, she felt completely at ease. The staff knew exactly what she could and couldn't have, and made sure everything was safe for her without compromising on flavor. The food itself was outstanding. Every dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. You can tell the chefs know what they’re doing, and the attention to detail was impressive across the board. Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious food, excellent service, and a team that truly understands dietary needs. Especially great for anyone who is gluten-free. Will definitely be back!

Food is great but you aren’t going to get amazing service. Had to walk in and almost confront them to ask for a table. Further, got a firm talking to because we choose a lounge and it could be “difficult to eat” on the lounge. We had no issues eating on the lounge by the way … they spoke less English than expected for a tourist spot but manageable. However the food and drinks were great.

Beautiful restaurant with amazing food! The service was great, the servers speak very good English and give perfect recommendations for the meals. We also definitely recommend checking out the shop inside the restaurant where they sell the meats, cheeses and wines that they also serve. All in all, this was a phenomenal experience and we will be coming back when we visit Santa Susanna again! (We visited the place at around 6 pm on a Wednesday, so it wasn't busy at all.)

We went in for lunch while waiting for the rest of the group out on the quads. The place itself is picturesque and they display a bunch of Iberian hams and cheeses which they serve. We started with some ham and drinks. These were promptly served. Proper glasses, no canned sodas etc. everything just a bit higher standard than the usual places just further down the road. We continued with some more tapas, a salad and the local butifarra sausage. Everything was extraordinary and tasted spectacular. The salad was my personal favorite. We were all so very surprised by the amazing flavors we kept passing the dishes around for everyone to try. We also made reservations for dinner immediately so the rest of the group will be able to sample what we had and more.

THE BEST RESTAURANT in Santa Susanna! Both food and service were out of this world! We ate here 3 times in 2 days. We were greeted by the friendliest professional ham slicer, Gustavo and Jose the waiter. Our group ordered almost everything on the menu and every single dish tasted so delicious I could cry. The quality of the iberico ham was The staff went above and beyond to make us feel extra special and catered too. It is no easy feat to deal with large group of diners and the team is always approachable with a big smile.
